Episode 5: OzGrav Joins Let's Torque

OzGrav is an amazing Australian Research Centre funded organisation dedicated on capitalising on the historic first detections of gravitational waves. We now have a much greater understanding of the complex, and extreme physics of black holes and warped spacetime, thanks to the brilliant Australian scientists and engineers working towards this goal.

We are so honoured to be hosting Jackie Bondell, the Education and Public Outreach Coordinator at OzGrav to tell us a little more about the amazing work they do and the value of science communication!

Tune in to episode 5 of the Let’s Torque Trash Torque Podcast to find out more!

You can also find out more at OzGrav’s website: https://www.ozgrav.org/

Thank you all so much for an incredible year at Let’s Torque, and we hope for many more!

Episode 3: In case you're new here...

In honour of it being over a year since the last Trash Torque Podcast was published, we decided to make a podcast summarising who we are and why we believe that Science Communication is so important.

Come on a journey with us, and hopefully you’ll become as passionate about SciComm as we are!
We’re looking forward to continuing the Trash Torque: Moments Where SciComm Failed series!

Join Georgie and Josh as they discuss what Let’s Torque is, what we do, and why we are passionate about communicating science in all forms!

Episode 2: This Waspn't It

This Waspn't It.png

The way we treat wasps? Just waspn’t it.

We are always talking about the wonders of SciComm - how it can benefit us, how it is done right…but how about when it goes wrong? Or perhaps (in this case), how about when it is entirely non-existent?

Join Tess and Amy as they dive deep into the world of wasps! When they play such a crucial role in the ecosystem, why is it that the general public look at them so negatively? What’s with this constant comparison between their Bee-rothers?

Introducing a whole new podcast series by Let’s Torque: “Trash Torque: Moments where SciComm failed”

We are always talking about the wonders of SciComm - how it can benefit us, how it is done right…but how about when it goes wrong? Or perhaps (in this case), how about when it is entirely non-existent?

Join Tess and Amy as they dive deep into the world of Genetically Modified (GM) Foods: how the lack of science communication led to detrimental effects, and what the science community can do to bring back the appeal of GM foods.
